Someone's name performs a lot of function in his or her life. Once a child is born a name is given to that child and that name is what the child will be known with. When the child grows and changes that name to something else that is what friends and neighbors will know him or her with.
Every name has a spirit backing it up, whether good or bad there must be a spirit behind that name. A mother is not meant to name her child after the family's circumstance because once the child starts answering such name whatever is wrong with the family will be found in the life of the child.
In the book of Genesis all authority was given to Adam to name all the creatures of God the name he desires.
This same authority God has given to parents over their children to give them whatever name they desire because they gave birth to them and are known as their parents. Both the mother and father are not expected to lay abuses upon a child because those abuse will stand to counter the goodies of the child. Parents should learn to control their anger and not let their anger control them. Instead of cursing your children bless and pray for them.
